Dental filling may not sound like an exciting experience during your holiday, however, if you already plan to have a medical holiday, dental check-up and some fillings, if needed, can be a reasonable extra treatment for your oral health.

Filling are suitable for not so terrible tooth decay, meaning the cavities are getting into ‘the dentin’ or the second layer of the tooth. Worn, chipped and broken teeth can also be treated by dental filling. There are two types of filling used at our hospitals: amalgam and composite filling.

Amalgam is a common filling material which is a fusion between silver and other metals. It is scrutinized for containing mercury. However, with its mixture with silver and being hardened, its deadly quality becomes harmless.

You should wait at least 8 hours after Amalgam filling to sure it’s fully solid. Until then, avoid any chewing.

Composite filling is another common material especially for cosmetic reason. It can match your natural tooth color perfectly. It is a combination of plastic dental resin and porcelain and glass which render its durability and natural-looking appearance.
