Firm and lifted buttock is a symbol of young and attractive body, if a significant weight loss, several pregnancies or simply a lack of exercise are what you experience in life, buttock lift is a safe and effective solution to regain your self-confidence.

What happen before and during the surgery?

The surgeon will need to take a look at your medical history then undergo a physical examination, discuss your desired outcome as well as inform you about possible risks and side effects. The operation takes 2-3 hours under general anesthesia.

General incision can vary from the upper part of the butt along the beltline, along the sides of the butt or on the butt crease. After making the half-moon shaped cut, hanging skin will be trimmed and excess fatty tissue removed. The butt will then be reshaped and lifted into a smoother new contour. Drain tube will be inserted to drain out excess fluid and blood.

The result lasts for many years but of course, unfortunately, we cannot defy age and gravity.

How long is the recovery? What to do after the surgery?

This requires 1 night at the hospital. You may need to take leave for 1 week for recovery then you can resume back to work afterward. Stitches will be removed 1 week after also.

For better skin tightening process, patients are encouraged to wear a compression garment to support the area for at least 3-4 weeks. To prevent blood clots, you are recommended to walk as soon as you can, anyhow, rigorous activities should be avoided until after 3 months. Total recovery time would be 4-6 months and you’ll be pretty much back to normal.

Keep the area clean and dry and avoid submerging into water to prevent infection. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight due to risk of scar’s hyper pigmentation or wear high SPF if you cannot avoid direct sunlight.

Smoking and alcohol consumption as well as certain vitamins and medication intake should be stopped for optimal recovery.

Who can have buttock lift surgery?

Healthy men and women who have loose excess buttock skin and would like to lift and reshape the concerned area to look firmer and more youthful are suitable for buttock lift.

For a lifted and fuller result, buttock implants or liposuction may be needed in combination.

Reasonable expectation towards the result is important as well as stable emotion since the surgery can possibly make the butt look quite flat rather than round, therefore it’s essential to clearly discuss your preferences and possible result with the surgeons.

Heavy smokers and drinkers are not advised to undergo any kind of surgery due to higher risk to complication. Patients with health problems may not be suitable either.
